Readers appear in pairs; one reading odd-number years alternates with one reading even-number years. Each pair reads for 15 minutes, with a 5 minute interval between pairs.
Historically, presentations of One Million Years designated male-identifying readers to odd-number dates and female-identifying readers to even numbers. Gender non-conforming readers may choose which set of dates they wish to read.
Dates are read from both One Million Years: Past and One Million Years: Future, starting where the previous reading ended, counting slowly from the past to the present, and from the present into the future.
We ask that readers arrive 15 minutes before their scheduled time.
Readers will be photographed and the performance may be recorded.
